Hello, I'm Diondra

I am a UX Researcher/Designer based in Atlanta, Georgia.

My Design Journey

In 2020, I graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelors's in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Human Learning and Development. Initially, I was pursuing a career in speech-language pathology but decided to put that career on pause to think about my other options.

In middle school, I had gone to Disney world for the "first time" (I had been before but was too young to remember). Being in Magic Kingdom, simply put, was incredible! However, I remember standing in a queue and brainstorming what could make this experience better? After a long enjoyable day at the parks, My family and I would critique Disney! Who does that?! However, I noticed I had a lot of valuable things to say. It lingered in the back of my mind dormant because I would have never thought there was a field that practices making user's experiences more enjoyable until my senior year of college. In that year, I started taking courses to work on my research and analytical skills.

I decided to commit 100% of my time towards my portfolio during my senior year in college. I took Korean language classes all four years of college and in my second to last semester, my professor assigned a project that called us to do market research inside of three Korean owned corporations. My partner and I chose restaurants. However, I took it a step further and turned it into a personal UX project that can be seen in my projects tab called "Eat More Korean Kiosk app". I genuinely enjoyed doing this work and soon realized it was because I can combine my interest in caring for people's experiences and my creativity into one job.
